We are pleased to offer a bespoke range of high performance Scandinavian timber windows and doors.  Made from laminated timber sections the wood is sawn into thin sections and glued back together with opposing grains to make up frame sections.  A process which provides much greater strength and resistance against warping and twisting.  This typically Scandinavian way of produceing high performance products results in a construction which is strong, stable and durable.  Unlike british joinery windows our products are designed with longevity and continuing performance in mind.

Manufactured to the same high standards and quality as our timber bi-folding and sliding door systems our wide range of timber products are considered market leaders within a demanding industry.  Produced in the same Scandinavian and European factories as our Sunflex and Oslo product range we offer the Top Swing, Side Swing, Side Hung, Tilt & Turn, Fixed, Balcony Door and Entrance Door.  Raked heads, curved frames and glass to glasss corner can all be made possible with the option to introduce mullions, transoms, glazing bars and insulated panels as you so wish.

TIMBER AT A GLANCE
Wood is a living material and is affected by changes in the weather.  Temperature and humidity variations cause the timber to expand and contract. Unless this movement is allowed for in the design, windows and doors can take on their own lives with consequent problems in closing and sealing. You have probably experienced this with windows and doors being hard to close in the winter and long spells of wet weather and drafts in the summer and long spells of dry weather

To overcome this all of our windows and doors are made from laminated sections. The wood is sawn into thin sections and glued together to make up the frame members. This process provides greater strength, and evens out the stresses in the timber which in turn reduces the risk of warping and results in a construction which is strong, stable and durable.

Our main line of timber products are made with laminated pine sections.  The pine is a slower grown variety offering a tighter grain that is sanded down to a higher level.  The pine we are using is carefully selected and is 100% FSC approved, from managed forests.  To prevent rot and decay, the finalised sections undergo a vacuum impregnation treatment, with clear preservative, which can then be over coated with a micro-porous paint or stain finish, either in the factory, or by the customer on site. Site finishing must be done in clean, dry conditions and prior to installation in the building.  Wood is an ideal material to manufacture windows due to its high level of natural insulation. When combined together with high performance double or triple glazed units outstanding U-values can be achieved.
